Lucy Baird is an art therapist and yoga therapist that tailors her approach to each client’s preferences and goals, integrating conversation, creative expression, and somatic methods into the therapeutic space. With a focus on trauma-informed care, Lucy has experience with youth in crisis, individuals facing behavioral and emotional challenges, and adults managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and traumatic experiences. In her free time, Lucy enjoys engaging in movement, creativity, outdoor activities, and spending time with loved ones.
Yoga therapy and somatic therapy incorporates movement, body awareness, and meditation. This approach considers an individual’s mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, considering how each layer interacts to effect wellbeing and offering tools to support each.
Sound healing is a therapeutic practice that employs various sounds, such as crystal singing bowls, chimes, or rhythmic drumming, to support relaxation, emotional release, mental clarity, and presence.

Mindfulness is an act of radical self-compassion and presence with what is. Using this approach, Lucy supports you in stepping out of judgment and into curiosity within the counseling space. Practicing mindfulness and breathwork regularly offers opportunity for self-awareness, improved focus, stress reduction, pain management, and emotional regulation.
Lucy sees clients as young as 5 but specializes in counseling diverse client ages from young adolescents up to older adults. She enjoys using art therapy and yoga therapy to hold space for people of all ages in their therapy journey.
Many of Lucy’s clients have faced anxious thoughts and/or a depressed mood. Lucy offers support to clients with these challenges through verbal, artistic, and somatic counseling techniques in Tallahassee and across the state of Florida.

This summer 2024 we are making music, dancing, painting, making art, playing, writing poetry, journaling, learning yoga and mindfulness, engaging in nature and loving animal therapy at Creativity Camp 2024! Campers will have the opportunity to practice social skills, learn coping skills, talk about their feelings, and build self esteem while doing creative and fun projects together!
