Anxiety is the feelings or sensations our body experiences when we encounter worry, uneasiness, nervousness or uncontrollable life events. Anxiety is a emotion that all of us feel at some point. It is a perfectly healthy human emotion, even though it can feel uncomfortable at times. Anxiety is a natural response to stress, although it's an uncomfortable emotion, it is meant to protect us, to help us prepare, and it helps keep us safe. However for about 20% of adults in America, anxiety is overwhelming and negatively impacts their lives and relationships. Those 40 million adults are diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Anxiety symptoms can affect both the mind and body, often causing intrusive thoughts, intense emotions and physical symptoms.
Anxiety Therapy involves incorporating evidenced based modalities to help you get to the root causes of your anxiety while also incorporating effective coping skills that help you rewire your nervous system. After engaging in anxiety therapy, clients describe feeling more confident in themselves, having less intrusive thoughts and worry, and more control over their lives.
