Megan Holmes Cameron is a board-certified art therapist, artist, and teacher. Megan facilitates group therapy and support groups using art therapy for a variety of clients. She specializes in working with people with disabilities of all ages and genders and has 15 years of experience in the field. In addition to providing groups at Mosaic Creative Counseling, she works as an adjunct professor for the Art Therapy Graduate program at Florida State University, is a teaching artist through Arts4All Florida, and is a school-based art therapist serving individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder as well as emotional behavioral disorders. Megan also provides supervision for post-graduate art therapists working towards their credentials. Her specific areas of focus include disabilities, grief and loss, and emotional and behavioral disorders. Megan is versed in open studio, person-centered, and behavioral approaches and encourages experimentation in creativity to foster expression, identity formation, and connection. Megan’s personal art practice involves woodwork, sculpture, illustration, and painting. Outside of these roles, Megan is a youth rock climbing coach and avid outdoor enthusiast. She loves coffee and all things rock climbing, hiking, and kayaking.

An open studio approach to art therapy groups allows clients to drop in to a creative art studio setting and engage in creativity according to their own flow. Megan holds a firm belief that all people have an innate ability and drive towards creativity. She aims to foster and support a sense of autonomy, connection, and possibility in an open studio setting through a variety of material choices.

Have you lost a loved one? Experiencing loss is unimaginable painful and grief can be a long process. Megan has specialized training working as an art therapist with people in hospice care and addressing bereavement with older adults, adults in memory care, and adolescents and teens.
In the Autism community early intervention and access to support and resources is essential. Megan specifically address social skills and independence with individuals with Autism while encouraging expression and connection through art making.
Art is an extension of ourselves and an excellent tool for communication. Megan uses art therapy to support therapeutic goals related to communication disorders and serve to aid in giving voice to complex emotions difficult to express with verbal communication alone. Megan has over 10 years of experience working with people who have communication disorders or communication affected by physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy.
