Below are some common questions about the mosaic clinic.
Our Mosaic is for all ages! Adults, college students, teens and children can benefit from the clinic. Young clients click well with our interns because they have a relatable demeanor as graduate students. However adult clients also fit well with our Clinic interns because they are able to try holistic creative modalities to improve their mental health.
A Licensed Therapist is trained and experienced in working with complex mental health issues such as trauma disordered eating, couples counseling, etc. Licensed Therapists will also be available for clients often for as long as needed, similar to a specialist doctor, you can call them up and schedule when you need to. Whereas Clinic Interns cannot be trained yet in higher modalities such as EMDR, etc. Internships only last for a year, which means that your Intern will change about once a year if you choose to participate in the clinic long term. Interns also can only see clients during thier college semester, so they must take breaks from seeing participants when their college classes are on a break like holidays.
Our Master’s level Interns are highly skills and actively in trainings. They are still studying but often researching some of the most cutting edge holistic models. They receive supervision from faculty at their university as well as on-site supervision from Mosaic therapists To ensure thier work with participants is top-notch!
