Is it more important to find a therapist who is cheap or a therapist who is a good fit?
Did you know the most important factor in client satisfaction and therapy results is finding a “good fit” between a client and counselor?
A “good fit“ between therapist & client has a lot to do with compatible personalities and clinical areas of expertise. At Mosaic, we want to pair you with a counselor that is highly trained and experienced in addressing your specific concerns as well as someone who is within your budget. But please know that finding a good fit with your therapist is our top priority, so we do not pair clients with therapists strictly based on finances. If our best fit therapist is outside of your price range we will provide you a list of referrals in the community we trust instead of matching you with one of our therapists who does not fit your needs.
Starts at $100 per session hour
Our team of credentialed clinicians have both experience and trainings to be considered experts in their niche area of clinical work. Obtaining a credential means they have at least a Master’s Degree, extensive hours of supervision and experience and have passed a credentialing exam. Our credentialed clinicians also have additional trainings in niche areas such as trauma treatment, Enneagram work, creative therapies, etc. Because of their level of expertise, our rates to work with a credentialed clinician starts at $100 and goes up. This price varies upon clinician. When you are working with a credentialed clinician you are receiving expert level care and your clinician has specific skills and trainings to work with your concerns specifically.
Starts at $75 per session hour
Mosaic additionally has a few Master's Level Clinicians on our team. Master's Level Clinicians have completing their master’s degree in a relevant mental health field such as social work, art therapy, mental health counseling, music therapy, etc. However these clinicians do not yet have a credential in their field such as license or board certification. They may be working toward licensure hours, supervision and examination or another credential. When you work with a Master's level clinician, the rate is $75. When you work with a Master's level Clinician you are in good hands. It is important to know that most of these clinicians are under supervision, meaning they will staff their concerns with a credentialed supervisor, while still maintaining your confidentiality.
$60 per session hour
Some of our Mosaic Clinicians facilitate therapy groups. We wanted to offer our community an affordable option for clients who are looking for a supportive group dynamic. That's why Mosaic group therapy sessions are only $60. When you are a participant in a group therapy session you are working with a clinician and possibly a student intern. Group Therapy is a supportive hour where 4-8 participants of similar demographics discuss familiar presenting concerns. Please know that we value our group dynamic and our intake coordinator determines who is a good fit for group.
$35 per session hour
The Mosaic Clinic is facilitated by Master’s Level Student Interns instead of credentialed Mental Health practitioners. Therefore this is not considered an official medical/mental health service, however these students are relatable, empathetic and engaged. They are using the skills they are learning to help clients make progress and creatively improve their mental health. We wanting to offer our community an affordable option for clients who need a little extra support. That's why Mosaic Clinic sessions are only $35. When you are a participant in the clinic you are working with a student intern who is getting their Masters degree in a field such as Art Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Music Therapy, etc. They are under supervision both with the university and Mosaic to ensure they are providing top quality care, while still maintaining your confidentiality. These services are not eligible for any kind of insurance involvement, meaning you cannot use an HSA or FSA card to pay or request an out of network reimbursement through insurance.
Our team is not in network with any insurance companies, but out of network reimbursement may be an option for you. At Mosaic, we value our clients and our team. Working in network, with insurance companies has been in conflict with these values. When working with insurance companies, it lowers the cost for the client, however it underpays our team which we believe devalues their expertise and causes financial stress. Working in network with insurance companies also forces our clinicians to give client diagnostic information to the insurance company. We believe this violates our client’s privacy. However, we do have numerous clients that we have helped to receive out of network partial reimbursement through their insurance company. If you choose to work with a licensed clinician this is an option for you to ease the burden of cost. Your licensed clinician can provide you with a superbill which you will then submit to your insurance for partial out of network reimbursement. The amount insurances reimburse is different and we cannot guarantee they will approve it.
Life happens and we get it! While we are compassionate and empathetic toward unforeseen circumstances, our therapists reserve their time and resources for each client. Our therapists rely on this income as well. In the event of cancellation or rescheduling, we require advanced notice by 12pm the business day before appointments to avoid a fee. This notice allows us to offer the appointment hour to another client who is in need of services. If you do not show for your scheduled therapy appointment or if you call to cancel after 12 pm the business day prior, you will be charged a cancellation fee. Our system locks appointments at 12 pm each business day so any following changes are subject to the charge. While we understand that unexpected circumstances arise, this fee is not negotiable. The cancellation/no show fee is typically 80% of the full fee session or higher. The exact amount is in the intake paperwork. We appreciate your understanding as we use this fee as a way to value our therapist's time and honor the client's waiting for services.
After our Intake Coordinator matches you with a clinician that is a good fit for your needs, we are transparent about this clinician’s fees and any charges you may receive. Before you commit to counseling with a specific clinician at Mosaic you will know what charges will look like. Before your first appointment you are entitled to a “Good Faith Estimate” which will explain what fees to prepare for and how charges will be broken down and what an annual estimate might be.
